Austria - Land SalzburgMusic homeland (of your choice) Final concert June 6 201213.06.2012 Music homeland (of your choice) is the title of a music education project by the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra within its youth activities, "school partnership". For 2012, the new middle school Grödig was selected. The starting point of the project idea was this piece by Charles Ives, Decoration Day, in which he composed the musical memories of his childhood. In a three-day workshop, there was a very productive meeting between the five musicians of the Mozarteum Orchestra and about 50 active music-making scholars. The artist Jürgen Palmer interviewed musicians of the Mozarteum Orchestra and portrayed the pupils. The end result inter alia a film that was also presented at the closing ceremony. Together with the musicians of the orchestra the young musicians of the school were playing music from the countries of their origin or the origin of their parents and grandparents.
