Chelsea
The Mozart family moved to the village of Chelsea on 6th August 1764, in order to benefit from its healthy air, while Mozart’s father was ill. At the time, Chelsea was located 10 km outside of London – today, it is a part of the city. In Chelsea, the Mozarts resided at the Randal family’s house in Five Fields Row (180 Ebury Street) Details: Info@chelseavillage.co.uk. Wolfgang wrote his first symphony (K. 16) here. After Leopold’s recovery, the family returned to London and from 25th September onwards, they lived at Thrift Street 20 (later Frith Street 29).
