Since the beginning of March, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto is a new member of the European Mozart Ways. The occasion for the new cooperation is, among other things, the 250th anniversary of the stay of W. A. Mozart and his father Leopold in Padova 12 - 14 March 1771.
"Mozart @ Padova 1771-2021- Un viaggio musicale" is the title of a festival presented by the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto from 12-14 March in streaming format. Curator of the Festival is Paola Cattaneo, artistic Director Marco Angius:
On 12 March 1771, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart visited Padua accompanied by his father Leopold, when he was just fifteen years old and returning to Salzburg on his first trip to Italy. 250 years later, from 12 to 14 March, the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto intends to commemorate the young composer's visit with a lively series of events between music and unveiling that will bring together some of the most famous musicians and scholars in the name of a great celebration of the city. From musicologist Sandro Cappelletto, voice of Radio 3 Rai's programmes, to Professor Sergio Durante, professor at the University of Padua, an extraordinary concert will feature Leonidas Kavakos, one of the greatest violinists on the world scene today, in the dual role of soloist and conductor with OPV.
