New Partnership of EMW in a project initiative related to the 250th Anniversary of W.A. Mozarts first Journey to Italy
The European Mozart Ways are partners together with “Associazione Mozart Italia“ in the Project “Mozart in Italia“ – a celebration 1770 – 2020, reimagining the first journey of W.A. Mozart and his father Leopold through Italy – an initiative by Sherry Davis. She is a Music Heritage Preservationist specializing in the advocacy of W.A. Mozart. Her authorship of "The Chronicles of a Modern-Day Mozartian" (http://www.moderndaymozartian.com) has been instrumental in encouraging a broader appreciation and understanding of his life and music.
The goals of this initiative are to recreate the route as a living history through crowdsourced content, facilitate awareness of this heritage and elevate collective morale during the current global pandemic.
Therefore the partners are inviting all Italian fans to capture their enthusiasm in a photo or video from home to recognize the 250th Anniversary of Mozart’s first journey to Italy.
Deadline for the submission via E-Mail (mozartproject1770@ gmail.com) is the first of August 2020.
As part of the project Greta Di Raimondo, a Member of Associazione Mozart Italia (AMI) and interim President of AMI Parma, who is also an incredibly gifted filmmaker will weave a tapestry of all the project's media submissions into a video as map of the journey. She did in 2017 a documentary from Mozartwoche 2017 (Mozart Week 2017) in collaboration with AMI and the Stiftung Mozarteum.
